God is still God. 3 4.67/5 (3)

It’s really good that we are called upon to pray for others, our families and ourselves at this time across America and the world. The “Coronavirus” is real. One Minister I know personally said on the phone recently that he knows of another Minister who died recently from the “virus.” So we know how real and deadly it is.

But what it has done is caused so many people who never prayed before to pray to God for protection and help. And cause so many who stopped praying to look to God and pray again. I am not sure who the “virus” is from (i.e. the works of the devil and sin or God’s punishment). I really do not like to say things I do not know or what the Holy Ghost has not told me.

But one thing I know, is that people (and their life) will change one way or the other because of the “virus.” I see that “none essential” small businesses in my Community are still open although they should not. I see people wearing masks like it’s a “gas thing” going around. I see people not wearing gloves or any basic protective gears. I see that supermarkets and other essential places I visited are out of hand sanitizers and hand soaps. I see from the news that police men, sports “stars” and celebrities, among others, are infected by the “virus” and some have died. And I see so many other life changing things. But I have never seen Churches “lock down” like this week and at least for the week to come.

So what can we say about all of this. I say we need to keep doing what’s right to protect our selves, families and neighbors as prescribed by our Medical Experts. Keep praying for others and ourselves. Keep seeking God and doing His will. And keep looking for the day soon when life is fine again without the evil “virus” going around. God is still God in all of this (Jeremiah 32:27 KJV).

We need more Spiritual men for God. 2 4.57/5 (7)

This past week Wednesday I had to complete Lesson 7 of a Home Bible Study (HBS) with a member of the local Church I attend. But when I arrived at his home, another brother from the same Church who is a relative was also there. That I did not know in advance that would be the case. I got no prior information or notice. Nevertheless, it was good to see them both.

The Bible Lesson #7 from The Light of Truth: The Power of the Holy Ghost went well with the person. He seemed to respond well to the Bible Scriptures and the real life examples mentioned. But then I remembered the reason why it took so long and his “unavailability” to do this last lesson. His phone texted message to me back then in last year 2019 came back to my mind. But I did not let that distract me. I just focused on the topic and the need to complete the last Lesson.

But it was when I left his home and proceeded to my Lyft Ride that I started to think about how much we need more Spiritual men in Church to teach Home Bible Study, go on Evangelism Witnessing, Preach the word of God, conduct Church Assembly Teaching of the word, participate in Prayer and Fasting, help others pray to receive the Holy Ghost at the Altar, and such alike, as the need to “List” is long.

The two brothers from above I know well enough to know they may not quite fit into the category of the Spiritual men we (i.e. the Church) need. One is very young in the Lord having been saved recently. The other had at least 2 or three opportunities to progress in the Lord with Spiritual duties. But he has shown that he needs lots of help to accomplish that and consistently. Then I could not focus my mind on another person (i.e. men) except for one Spanish Ministry person. And how sad I became. Because we are in a Spiritual Warfare with the enemy of Christ and we need as much help as possible…we need more Spiritual men for God.

The best thing that came to my mind was to pray more for the men and look to the youths for help. Maybe they will grow up in Church to be Spiritual men for God.

To pray without ceasing is so right. 2 4.8/5 (5)

Our Bible says “Pray without ceasing” at 1 Thessalonians 5:17 KJV. And just last week a visiting Preacher at our local Church (Rev Aaron Wright) preached, among other things, about the fact that the Church (i.e. Saints of God) cannot take a day off from praying, and in effect, serving/worshiping God.

Then just this week Tuesday (Feb 4, 2020) at our weekly Church Prayer Time, we heard that one of our sister member of the Fellowship Body is in the ICU at a Philly Hospital. As expected, the Church started to pray with others who heard the news before or knew earlier that day. Then I remember what Bro Wright said: the Church cannot take a day off.

Then I remembered another sister who hurt her back so bad she required surgery to help fixed that. Bless God for the doctors. Nevertheless, I believe it was the Church consistent prayers that made the real substance and difference. Because there are others, even with surgery, who have not really recovered from a really bad back problem. And I remembered others within the Church Fellowship Body and outside of the Church as Saints families/relatives or just Church Visitors that we prayed for and God answered to do what we cannot do for them.

In fact, just recently we heard the “testimony” about a daughter of our Church Member who is now free from cancer after the Church (as a collective Body/Group) went on without ceasing to pray for her.

The point of all of this is that God gave his modern day Apostolic Church the unique and blessed power to pray, and he will do the rest. Because Luke 1:37 KJV says “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” So we pray one for the other, and for others…in Jesus Name. It’s all about God and his Power to do what we cannot do.

People need the Lord. 3 4.8/5 (5)

I finally got some time off to collect my Computer CPU from my Tech Expert today since it needed to be upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10.

There was a white/caucasian man who came into the Store about 5-7 minutes after me. As I waited to get another chance to speak to my Tech Expert about another matter, the same man was getting his phone fixed. When it came for him to pay he did so by credit card. But it was what he said that struck me with curiosity. He said he is a SEPTA driver but he is not working now. He has to wait at least 30 days to work again because he failed a “Breathalyzer Test” he said. He works for Septa, but apparently when they did a random test he failed and is now on some sort of “probation” for 30 days. In fact, when he walked through the door to enter the Store, I could smell the drinking “juice” high on him. It was just after 12 noon in the early afternoon today Feb 3, 2020.

But he also said he plays the “Slot Machine” at the Corner Store for cash/money. So it may just be that he has a gambling problem also, though I am not sure of that. His communication with me was very limited as he focused on getting his phone fixed, paying and leaving. But I did pray for him right there on the spot inside the Store that God would help him with his drinking problem and Septa work issues.

As he left the Store, I did verbally wish him “all the best” with his Septa work and drinking problem. That’s the best I could do at the time. But God is good. I may not see him again. But if God answers my prayers for him, I believe his drinking problem will be fixed/corrected for the good and his Septa work issues will not be a problem.

People need the Lord. He does. I did and still do. And there are many others too. People need the Lord. See Psalms 91:15 KJV.

Communion at Church today and I almost missed that. 1 4.33/5 (3)

The Philly local Church I attend (visit https://arcofphiladelphia.org) had Communion Service today. This year April will make the start of 10 years since I am there at that Congregation. And it’s the first time I left the Communion Service happy but sad at the same time.

I think it’s because some of those I wanted to see (and expected to see) there were not there today. I always say when we cannot make it to Church because of “good reasons” God will understand. Because there are times, for example, when we may be sick, caught up in a long delay traffic, get stuck underground in the train/subway, and such alike.

Today I almost missed Church because I could not find my keys at home. My Uber ride came and was waiting down stairs but I still could not find my keys. There is no way I could have just locked my doors and leave for Church without my keys to get back in after Church and then work. So God helped me, I really needed to find my keys. As I searched I also prayed “please Jesus help me find my keys.”

I found them (after about 3 minutes) in my blue jeans pants pocket that I wore outside earlier in the morning to the corner store at my block to get some Paper Towels and Hawaiian Punch. The Uber ride did not leave and I got to Church after all. Must have been the will of God for me to be there today because if I did not find my keys “on time” I would not (and could not) have gone at all.

Nevertheless, I made it thanks be to God. Then I remembered later, when we honestly say “God willing” it’s not a cliche at all. Because anything can really happen that can prevent us from going where we need to be. But God thank God for Jesus and his power to help us every time in our times of need…in Jesus Name.

“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need” Hebrews 4:16 KJV.

Do you know what the Bible says about Jesus and how to be saved? 1 4/5 (3)

The Bible says Jesus is God in the flesh. Read 1 Timothy 3 verse 16 KJV that says: “…great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.” In Luke 7 verses 48-49 (KJV) we read “And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven. And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also?” So we know only God can forgive our sins and Jesus forgave the sins of those he met while he was on Earth because he is God seen in human flesh. God is One God (not 3 persons in one) from the Old Testament to the New Testament. The Bible says in the Book of Isaiah 43 verse 10 (KJV) “Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.”

How to be saved from sins and received Eternal Life was taught, preached and practiced by the Apostles at Acts 2 verse 38 when Peter said: “…Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” So Peter knew what Jesus meant when Jesus spoke the words at Matthew 28 verse 19 and commanded the Apostles. The name from “in the name of” is Jesus Christ. And no where in the Bible was anyone baptized according to Matthew 28 verse 19 as mentioned. Why? Because Peter knew the correct understanding of that is Acts 2 verse 38 and many people in the Bible were baptized that way. Read also Acts 2 verse 36, Acts 8 verse 16, Acts 10 verse 48 and Acts 19 verse 5 in the Bible. And there is no infant baptism recorded or taught in the New Testament. Jesus and the Bible also said we must be born of water and the Spirit to receive Salvation and Eternal Life from John 3 verse 5 in the Bible. So were are to seek and receive the Holy Ghost (Holy Spirit) to be chosen Saints of God Almighty. Read Romans 8 verse 9 in the Bible.
