Let go of the World. 1 5/5 (1)

All TYJSite Says

It’s September 20th 2020 and as the US Presidential Election is now just weeks away, I remember this from the word of God – 1 John 2:15 KJV says: “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”

I say that because a lot of “Bible Believers” and “Christians” seem to be more focused on the Elections than on the things of God – more prayer and fasting, more bible study, more witnessing, more teaching the word, more preaching the word of God, more hospitality, more on-time Church attendance, and such alike. That is more holiness and less worldliness especially from the world of Politics.

As much as there are Church members counting down the days to Christmas, there are many more counting down the days to see their political party candidate in the “White House” Senate or House of Rep. This is not a good time, for example, to visit some Apostolic or Christian “friends” profile pages on Facebook or check out their tweets on Twitter. Because they are more into politics and not the things of God. That’s life and their choice. But I believe they need to let go of that “spirit.”

The vote and change (if God allows any thing) will come. We cannot stop that. Some will say our individual vote counted collectively can make a change or difference. But I am now middle-aged and have been hearing that all my life. Most times the “regular” person who is just an honest minded voter never really make a difference or change. Because there are principalities and powers in this world greater and more powerful that can do that – if God allows that.

Ephesians 6:12 KJV reminds us that “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Those are the kind of forces and powers that only God himself and the Angels of the Lord God himself can over-come. The “regular” man or woman cannot do that. Saved Saints of God filled with the Spirit of God can make a difference via God working through him/her. But that is always subject to God’s will of God not the person “own power.”

It is better, I believe, for God’s People to vote if they desire and according their ones conscience, knowledge of the truth about a Political Candidate and there public service record. But it’s wrong to get so much involved with the “times” instead of redeeming the times, that God, Church and the things of God become “second” and politics first in their life. That is not and will never be the will of God. Romans 12:2 KJV says: “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” And some of us know John 17:15 KJV says: “I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.”

Voting in itself is not evil as long as it’s not done in contradiction to the Bible teachings about evil, lies, false prophesies, etc., but done according ones conscience, knowledge of the truth about a Political Candidate, there public service record, and such alike. But we must let go of the “spirit” that will keep Saints of God from putting God first and keeping him their even before and after the Elections results. As long as we are alive after the Elections, life must go on. And as Saints of God (not satan) our life we must go on with God according to the word of God, and in holiness – not worldliness.
